Nike Lake Resort was one of the places I visited on my weekend trip to Enugu, and it is certainly a place I see myself returning to if another opportunity comes up. I visited for only two reasons: to see the resort and to ride a boat on the lake.
In this post, I have shared the things you should know before visiting Nike Lake Resort, Enugu, for the first time, as well as many other activities to try out.
Nike Lake Resort Address and How to Get There
Nike Lake Resort is located at Nike Lake Road, Abakpa Nike, Enugu State, Nigeria, 15km away from Akanu Ibiam Airport. As a popular location in Enugu, we didn’t stress at all about finding it. We simply flew down a tricycle that carried us from our hotel on Ogui Road to the resort for N1500. It was quite a distance for a trip within the town, and the roads were not in their best condition, coupled with the issue of evening traffic in Enugu.
Nike Lake Resort Access Fees
If you are just visiting Nike Lake Resort and do not plan to lodge, you won’t need to pay entry or access fees to see the place or relax in the serene environment. However, if you want to engage in activities like boat rides or swimming in the pool, you will have to pay separate fees for those.
Nike Lake Resort Room Rates
Nike Lake Resort, also known as Nike Lake Resort Hotel, offers lodging in 210 well-appointed rooms and suites suitable for all tastes and budgets. There are five room types in the resort, each providing a blend of comfort and luxury. The rooms overlook well-manicured gardens or the lake.
Room rates are likely to change in the future, but below are the rates at the time of writing.
1. Superior Room at N34,000/Night
The Superior Room is the least type of room in Nike Lake Resort Hotel, with a wide range of features that include air conditioning, a private balcony, a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom, a flat-screen TV, free parking space, a coffee or tea station, writing desk, telephone, etc.
2. Superior Room (Double Bed) at N34,000/Night
Following the Superior Room is another Superior Room with the same features as the first, except that this one has a double bed, which adds an extra layer of comfort for the same price.
3. Executive Suite at N66,500/Night
Another room type at Nike Lake Resort Hotel is the Executive Suite, which offers everything in the smaller rooms with the inclusion of a living room, a bedroom with a king-size bed, a kitchenette, a separate lounge and bar, and a fridge.
4. Diplomatic Suite at N81,500/Night
The Diplomatic Suite has the same features as the Executive Suite but is bigger and classier and certainly costs more.
5. Presidential Suite at N105,500/Night
The Presidential Suite is the biggest and most expensive room type at Nike Lake Resort Hotel. Everything about it screams luxury and class. Offering the same basic features as the other suites, the Presidential Suite still stood out in all of its glory.
Nike Lake Resort Meals and Menus
What is a resort without a perfect dine-in restaurant suitable for a romantic dinner date? Nike Lake Resort has it all: the ambiance, the menu, and everything else. Their meals and menus come in three categories: tea and coffee break menu, cocktail menu, and buffet menu. You can see the details of the menus here on their website.
Things to do at Nike Lake Resort Enugu
Nike Lake Resort may not have all the activities expected of a resort with a lake, but it did not fall short in its offerings. If you don’t have Jetski and Pedalo expectations for this place, then stay with me while I share a list of some other fun things you can do at Nike Lake Resort alone, with friends, or with family.
1. Lodge at the Resort
As the resort that it is, you certainly have the option to lodge to get the full experience. Nike Lake Resort is the perfect getaway location, whether you are looking for a relaxing experience with loved ones or simply seeking some time off to unwind from work and stress. The tranquil environment sets the perfect tone for rest or meditation.
2. Go on a Boat Ride
The boat ride is another activity you can engage in at Nike Lake Resort. It is an all-week-round activity that costs N1500 per person. It is completely safe, as you will be provided with life jackets. Be sure to be there before 5:00 PM, which is the closing time for boat rides.
3. Eat at the Restaurant
As mentioned earlier, the restaurant at Nike Lake Resort is the spot for a perfect dining experience. Think romantic dinner dates. The ambiance is something to kill for, and I wouldn’t trade my reservation here for anything in Enugu City.
4. Enjoy the Serene Environment
If none of the already listed activities appeal to you, you can opt for a walk around the resort like I did and bask in all that serenity. As popular as Nike Lake Resort sounds, it may surprise you to find out that it still maintains a reputation as a very quiet and serene place to be, surrounded by nature and architecture.
5. Enjoy Native Consumables at Omenala Bush Bar
Among the numerous event venues at Nike Lake Resort is Omenala Bush Bar. It is situated in a calm and breezy environment that has a cool lakeside view. You can enjoy different kinds of native consumables here.
6. Have a Picnic with Friends
With all that perfect greenery, having a picnic at Nike Lake Resort is not something you should think twice about. Gather your friends and get that color picnic off the group chat.
7. Have a Corporate Meeting in the Boardrooms
If you are searching for a space to have your meetings, the resort’s specially decorated room is designed to serve your executive purposes.
8. Swim in the Pool
If you are wondering if you can swim in the pool at Nike Lake Resort, yes, you can. It is not restricted, but you will have to pay a fee to access the pool.
9. Engage in Sport Activities
The resort boasts football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts. If you are a lover of these, you might want to add them to your list for when you visit.
10. Burn Some Calories in the Gym
Nike Lake Resort has an in-house gym for its guests. If you are a fitness fan, here is something for you.

Overall, Nike Lake Resort is a location you should place high on your Enugu travel bucket list. It’s good for people with all kinds of budgets. During my visit, I only explored the resort and didn’t spend any money on activities because the boat ride we came for was closed by the time we got there.
