Ogadinma by Ukamaka Olisakwe | Book Review

Ogadinma by Ukamaka Olisakwe

After reading Daughters who Walked this Path, and hearing people say that it shares similar themes with Ogadinma, I concluded I did not look forward to reading Ogadinma and therefore did not add it to my reading list. And now, I am happy that I did read this book. I […]

Tomorrow Died Yesterday

I caught this book flying around the streets of bookstagram sometime in 2020. I did not pay attention to the reviews and bought it later just because I found the title personified and beautiful. I started reading it last month and dumped it because of school. I picked it up […]

On Ajayi Crowther Street

On Ajayi Crowther Street is one of those books I bought without any idea of what it was all about. I did not expect it to be anything, so having my first graphic novel came as a surprise.  Synopsis “On the noisy Ajayi Crowther Street in Lagos, neighbors gather to […]

Are you a team solo or group trip?💬 The first Are you a team solo or group trip?💬

The first time I visited the Crystal Lake Resort was with a group. There were so many people that I felt really smouldered. I couldn't express myself the way I wanted, and I also wasn't in control of the places I entered and the things I did.

I may not have experienced either enough but I know, for a fact, that being in a crowd makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I want to be free, like a bird; relishing every moment of it, and spending as much time as I want.

So, team solo here.

Which are you?

📢 NEW BLOG POST ALERT Oguta Lake | Visiting + 📢 NEW BLOG POST ALERT

Oguta Lake | Visiting + Cost 📝

I visited the Oguta Lake and took a boat ride to the point where two unmixable rivers met, also known as the confluence point. Scroll to the last slide to see the two rivers called Urashi and Ogbuide.

I have written about my experience on the blog, but before you head over, here are some interesting facts I think you should know about this hidden gem↓

🔸️Oguta Lake is the largest natural lake in South-Eastern Nigeria at 8.05km long, 2.41km wide, and 8 m (26 ft) deep

🔸️It is surrounded by the rainforest of the Niger-Delta

🔸️The sources of the lake are Njaba, Utu, Awbana, and Urashi rivers

🔸️There is the nonfunctional Oguta Lake Resort on the other side of the lake

🔸️There is a newer resort called the Crystal Lake Resort, situated on one of the shores of the lake. It has a sand-filled beach, a hotel, and a myriad of fun activities.

💬 Would you visit here sometime? Let me know in the comment section.

📍Heroes' Square Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. T 📍Heroes' Square Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.

The Heroes’ Square Owerri (also called Ojukwu’s Center) is a Park in town that consists of a mini stadium and the statues of past leaders erected by the past Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, to celebrate the good works they have done for their countries and the African continent as a whole.

It was meant to be one of the major tourist attractions in the town of Owerri, but not quite.

I have shared my experience on the blog.

📍 Aba Nigeria Temple in Aba, Abia State 🇳🇬

After postponing for two years, I was finally able to visit the Aba Nigeria Temple.

Prior to my visit, I had heard it was the most beautiful church in Nigeria but I cannot fully agree since I haven't seen a lot of churches in the country.

A lot of attention was paid to the details of this temple during construction and I give it to it, it qualifies to make it to the top 5 on the list.

Have you seen a more beautiful church than this? Drop the location in the comment so I can check it out.😊

I have written everything you need to know about Aba Nigeria Temple on the blog.
